On April 16, 2024, Roman Chumak, Chairman of the Board and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the NGO MEC “Pro Justice”, and Olena Fonova took part in an important event for the country – “A Decade of Transformation Towards a Just Future: Implementation of Anti-Corruption and Rule of Law Reforms in Ukraine with the Support of the EU”, which was held at the National Cultural, Art and Museum Complex “Mystetskyi Arsenal”.
The event was jointly organized by the EU ProjectPravo-Justiceimplemented by Expertise France and the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative with the support of the European Union in Ukraine.
The event marked the start of new phases of both projects. The event was aimed at presenting Ukraine’s achievements in strengthening the rule of law and fighting corruption after the Revolution of Dignity with the support and cooperation of the European Union.
The organizers of the event, in particular, the EU Pravo-Justice Project and the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative, emphasized the importance of cooperation with the European Union in these matters. After Ukraine began negotiating its accession to the EU, the country began to face new challenges related to fighting corruption and ensuring the rule of law. Ukrainian society recognized these threats and decided to actively counter them.
One of the main aspects of the event is the discussion of anti-corruption reforms. Corruption is a serious threat to the country’s development, and implementing effective mechanisms to combat it is an important task. The event is also aimed at supporting the rule of law in Ukraine. This means that all citizens and organizations must comply with the law, and the judicial system must be independent and effective.
The events, jointly organized with EU support, emphasize the importance of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union. This helps Ukraine to implement reforms and move closer to European standards. Ten years after the Revolution of Dignity, Ukraine continues to develop and fight for its future. This event is a kind of summary of achievements and identifies ways for further development.
