On May 8, we celebrate the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation. This day was established by the Law of Ukraine “On the Perpetuation of the Victory over Nazism in the Second World War of 1939-1945” to honor the memory of all the victims of this terrible war. Since 2014, the poppy has become a symbol of remembrance of World War II in Ukraine, as it is in many European countries. The red poppy is a symbol of the eternal memory of those who gave their lives for peace and freedom. Today we bow to the memory of all those who died and are grateful to those who fought for our freedom then and are fighting for it now. May peace always reign on our land after the second Victory over the enemy!
